While this is the smaller crater, these sands are special as they are heated by volcanic vents under the sand. The sand is a pale, shimmering golden color, and very soft. This cavern is unbearably hot though, to humans, so most people don't want to spend a lot of time here unless they have to. Along the opposite side of the wall as the eggs are usually laid are rows upon rows of stone bleachers, and many ledges for dragons along the walls for the whole Weyr to celebrate hatchings.

||Eastern Northern Barrier Range
Tall, seemingly impassible mountains, these peaks stretch high above the clouds, obscuring vision as high as the eye can see. The only way to traverse them is on Dragonback. The Eastern part of these mountains is Benden's range, the Western is controlled by Telgar. Where is exactly is the border between them? No one is quite sure, and it's caused more than a few skirmishes between scouting patrols. There are cotholds tucked in throughout these mountains, some of them uncontacted for generations.

The mountainrange that extends down the Eastern border of the continent, this is the area that the Weyr itself is situated in. These mountains are not as sharp or dramatic as the Northern Barrier Range. These mountains are sloping and covered in forest where the soil was not too damaged by thread.

The Benden river flows north to south, down from the mountains and towards the southern sea. In Benden Territories, the river cuts deeply into the ground, creating a canyon. Many creatures live in and around it-- both prey and predator.

Located below the Weyrbowl, the hatching sands are made up of fine, glittering golden sands, interspersed with gemstones and precious metals. The sands are lit and heated from the light of what was once an enormous forge, casting an orange-red glow over everything. The area directly behind the forge is reserved for Whers, and their hatching Sands are kept pitch black, save for the few candles and torches candidates are permitted to bring.

Once laid out to accommodate as many weyrlings as possible, there are many bunks in each room, making it possible to put up to 12 Weyrlings per room. Unfortunately, with Telgar's steady decline, barely any of these rooms are filled now, and the ledges for the Dragons themselves are nearly always empty.

Nothing. That's all the sands have been reduced to. Just a large, gaping hole where sands used to be. Shards of fallen rock and weyr make this area treacherous indeed.
